Look around you — you’ll see lots of people with ideas who never do anything with them. But you took your ideas, and you did something. Even when people were telling you not to, even when they told you you were crazy, that it was risky, you still moved ahead. You knew that separated you from others around you when you did it, didn’t you?
Don’t let that difference go to waste. Now that you have your business, don’t try to be like everyone else — keep being different.
Take hold of that difference, harness it, be proud of it, use it to your advantage. Just because you’re a writer doesn’t mean you have to do the same things or have the same kind of business other writers have. The fact that you’re a graphic designer doesn’t mean your design business should look like other designer’s businesses. And just because you’re a coach doesn’t mean your website should be like all the other coach’s sites.
Even the most different of us forget this sometimes. Don’t.
You are different.
